Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions do you treat?

I provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, sleep difficulties, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, psychotic disorders, and co-occurring substance use concerns.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes. Medication management is provided when clinically appropriate as part of an individualized treatment plan.

What if I feel unsure about starting medication?

That is completely okay. Treatment decisions are collaborative, and we can discuss medication and non-medication options before deciding what feels right for you.

Will I be forced to take medication?

No. Medication is never required. Recommendations are based on your symptoms, preferences, and goals, and treatment decisions are made together.

What if I’ve had a bad experience with psychiatric medication in the past?

Past experiences are important and are always taken into account. Treatment recommendations are individualized, and medications are selected thoughtfully based on your history, symptoms, and comfort level.

Will I be diagnosed right away?

Not always. Some concerns can be identified during the initial evaluation, while others may require additional information or follow-up visits to ensure an accurate diagnosis.

Do you treat ADHD?

Yes. ADHD is evaluated and treated when clinically appropriate following a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation.

Do you prescribe stimulants for ADHD?

ADHD evaluation and treatment are available when clinically appropriate. However, in accordance with New Jersey prescribing regulations, stimulant medications cannot be initiated through telehealth alone. Because the practice is currently virtual, stimulant prescribing is not available at this time. In-person services are planned for the future.

Do you offer therapy?

I incorporate supportive therapeutic interventions into medication management visits, including psychoeducation, coping strategies, and collaborative treatment planning. I do not provide standalone psychotherapy or weekly therapy sessions.
